My boys are on their way!

This is my (Marion's) first time blogging on this site - how fun! I wanted to update everyone on Bob and Adam's progress. Bob and Adam met around 11:00 am last Friday morning to a very tearful but wonderful reunion. Bob said it felt like they hugged forever...awww! They had about a half hour to be "in the moment" and then they met up with Dori to begin their final section hike. Over the past 5 days they have enjoyed mostly good, cool weather. It has been a fairly strenuous hike and Adam has had to slow waaayyy down for Bob! As Bob puts it, Adam is one lean, mean, hiking machine!! Bob, Dori and Adam have stayed together for the majority of the time enjoying each other's company and stories from the past 5 months. On Tuesday, Adam sent me a cell phone picture of the first time they were able to see Mt. Katahdin in the distance...the excitement is definitely building!! The next 3 days will be flat and should provide some easy hiking before the big day on Sunday. Sunday morning the three of them will begin their final hike and summit Mt. Katahdin. Please pray for good weather and good visibility as Mt. Katahdin peaks at 5268 feet. You don't want to hike 2175 miles and not be able to see the very end of the trail!! They plan to do some celebrating and lots of picture taking once they arrive at the top - I can't even imagine the excitement and joy that's about to take place! Katy, Sara and I will fly up to Maine on Saturday, and then drive up to Mt. Katahdin to meet our boys Sunday afternoon. We will be hiking into Baxter State Park to wait for them. I cannot wait for the moment we see them coming down the trailhead...a sweet reunion to be sure!! We will post pictures once we get back home to Charlotte so that you all can experience with us the completion of two dreams coming true! Thanks again for all your support and encouragement through the years!!
